This 4-semester LPN certificate can also prepare graduates for the NCLEX-PN exam. More advanced courses cover pharmacology, microbiology and maternal nursing. Two semesters of clinical nursing courses are also required.

CUNY Bronx Community College

CUNY Bronx Community College offers 40 degree and certificate programs. In addition to educating prospective nurses, the Nursing and Allied Health Sciences Department offers training in radiologic technology.

LPN Certificate

Students enrolled in the 56-credit-hour LPN certificate program at CUNY Bronx Community College complete coursework during the evenings and on weekends. Program applicants must pass a series of writing, reading and pre-nursing assessment exams and have a GPA of at least 2.5 in preclinical courses to be admitted. Core courses teach students about mental health, nutrition, surgical nursing, pharmacology, pediatric nursing, infection control and psychiatric nursing.
