The Health, Mathematics and Science Division at CUNY LaGuardia Community College offers 11 allied health programs. Curricula for these certificate and associate's degree programs combine academic coursework with hands-on training to prepare students for licensing exams upon graduation.

LPN Certificate

The 48-credit-hour LPN certificate program at CUNY LaGuardia Community College includes pre-clinical coursework in anatomy, physiology and psychology. Students also complete 29 credit hours of nursing courses covering topics in nursing concepts, mental health nursing, surgical nursing, pediatric nursing and nursing science. This core nursing curriculum takes about a year to complete. Graduates are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Examination for Practical Nurses (NCLEX-PN).
