Students who are interested in both esthetics and cosmetology may consider the Tricoci University of Beauty Culture. Programs at Tricoci University of Beauty Culture
Mario Tricoci founded Tricoci University of Beauty Culture in 2004. The National Accrediting Commission of Career Arts and Sciences accredits this school, which offers programs in cosmetology, esthetics, nail technology and cosmetology teacher training. Cosmetology and esthetics programs prepare pupils to become make-up artists. Training methods include demonstrations, lectures, videos and visits from professional make-up artists. Students acquire practical experience at the school's student salons.
Esthetics Program
This program covers theoretical and practical make-up techniques. Learners explore safety and sanitation, skin care treatments, facial massage techniques, make-up application methods and hair removal treatments in the 750-hour program. Graduates can find jobs as body treatment specialists, waxing specialists and make-up artists after earning the Illinois Esthetician License.
Cosmetology Program
This 1,500-hour program includes training in hair, skin and nail care to prepare participants for jobs in beauty salons, spas and other skin care locations. Pupils study sanitation, business principles and the theories behind esthetics. Some classes address common trends in make-up, hair care and skin care.
Program at Pivot Point Academy
Pivot Point Academy has locations throughout Illinois, including one in Chicago and one in nearby Evanston, IL. In addition to training students, the school offers workshops and seminars throughout the year that can help professionals further develop their skills. Internships and study abroad opportunities are also available.
Esthetics Certificate
This 750-hour program includes training in facials, makeup application, body treatments and hair removal. Enrollees learn about skin care practices and how to improve appearance through waxing techniques, natural products, facials, body wraps and make-up. The program also includes training on client services and business basics.
Program at Douglas J Aveda Institute - Chicago
The Douglas J Aveda Institute offers training in a state-of-the art facility near downtown Chicago. The school offers job placement and housing assistance, as well as numerous ways to gain hands-on experience before entering the workforce.
Esthiology Program
This program covers make-up application and skin care and requires students to complete 750 hours of training. Students can expect to gain experience with performing body treatments, hair removal and facials to prepare for careers as licensed skin estheticians. Courses change based on international trends in skin care and make-up artistry. Instructor training is also available.
