North Haven Academy's Make Up Courses

North Haven Academy is a private, Paul Mitchell partner school. The school is located in a renovated three-story bank building. North Haven is near New Haven, CT, home of Yale University and four other colleges.

Basic Cosmetology Certificate

This basic cosmetology certificate program includes make up courses, hair design courses and courses on fashion trends. The program has three phases. The first phase introduces students to cosmetology basics; the second phase is an intermediate phase; and the final phase contains advanced instruction combined with salon experience. It is during this final phase that students will actually work with clients.

3-Day Make Up Course

North Haven Academy offers advanced make up courses within its Advanced Academy. These 3-day intensive make up courses build on the student's basic knowledge of make up to explore advanced techniques. Students will learn to apply products in order to maximize make up sales potential for their salons. Make up methods for special occasions as well as everyday looks are studied in this class.

Make Up Courses at Brio Academy of Cosmetology - Fairfield

Brio Academy of Cosmetology has several locations in Connecticut, including two in Fairfield on Kings Highway. One school is located at 501 Kings Highway East, and the other school is at 675 Kings Highway. The private academy has classes designed to prepare students for careers as make up artists, instructors and cosmetic consultants.

Make Up Artistry Certificate

Students enrolled in this make up course learn to apply make up for day wear, evening wear, weddings, photo shoots and specialty events. Topics of study include facial shapes, make up products, skin preparation and make up techniques. Students will be instructed in safety precautions and career opportunities. Job shadow programs allow interested students to observe make up artists at work.
