Grand Rapids Community College

Located in Grand Rapids, this college provides an Associate in Applied Arts and Sciences (AAAS) or Associate in Arts (AA) in the field of computer programming. The AA degree program is more suited for transferring to a 4-year degree program. Students can expect to take courses in computer programming, Java programming, C# programming, C++ programming and Visual Basic .Net programming.

Henry Ford Community College

Found in Dearborn, this college has an Associate of Applied Science (AAS) in Computer Information Systems. Common courses in the program include programming logic, C#, Java programming and Oracle. Students will be able to transfer credits from the AAS degree program. An application developer certificate program has courses in SQL, Visual Basic .Net programming, active server programming and database programming. The college has a computer programming club that provides extracurricular activities for students.

Kalamazoo Valley Community College

Located in Kalamazoo, this college offers a business programming AAS degree. The program combines business and computer courses. Students will learn about programming logic, C# programming, Java programming and applied business programming. A computer information internship is required.

Kellogg Community College

This college is in Battle Creek, and it provides a certificate in computer programming. Students are required to take classes in C++, Visual Basic and Java programming. Additional electives may include PERL programming.

Macomb Community College

Found in Warren, this college has a programming AAS and certificates. Mott Community College

The computer science certificate program offers several computer courses, but students are required to study a variety of programming courses like Visual Basic. The AAS in Computer Information Systems program also requires students to study C++, Visual Basic and advanced programming.

Oakland Community College

This college is in Bloomfield Hills, and it has a certificate of achievement in object-oriented software engineering. The program has courses in Java and C++ programming. The other software engineering certificate program also provides courses in Java, C++, Visual Basic, game and C# programming. Schoolcraft College

Found in Livonia, this college provides a programming associate's degree and certificate. The certificate program has a total of 16 credits, and students will study C++, C#, Java and Visual Basic programming. The AAS program has course in object-oriented programming, Visual Basic, programming logic and advanced C++.

Washtenaw Community College

Located in Ann Arbor, this college offers advanced certificates in C++, Java and Web database programming.
