Michigan GED Programs: School Options
The General Educational Development (GED) credential is a widely-accepted high school diploma equivalent. It consists of five examinations designed to test core subjects. The test was created by the American Council on Education (ACE). In Michigan, the Department of Labor and Economic Growth Office of Adult Education administers the GED. The state requires that participants earn an average score of 450 on each test with a total score of at least 2,250. They also must score at least 410 on each test. The GED is offered in English, Spanish and French.
Eligibility Requirements for Michigan Residents
Michigan requires test-takers to be 18 years of age and to identify which year they would have graduated from traditional high school program. The high school where the test-taker will be receiving their equivalency certificate may have further requirements.
