Night Classes in NYC with School Options
With all of the educational options in New York City (NYC), there are several colleges that offer night classes, including two schools that are part of the City University of New York (CUNY) public university system. The Borough of Manhattan Community College and the Bernard M. Baruch College are two of the largest schools in NYC offering night classes.
CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College's Night Classes
The CUNY Borough of Manhattan Community College (BMCC) is a 2-year public school offering associate's degree and certificate programs. Programs are offered in over 60 areas, including six programs that are offered as night and weekend programs. Continuing education and workforce development programs are also offered. The campus is located in downtown NYC, near the TriBeCa neighborhood.
Associate of Applied Science in Accounting
The accounting program provides a foundation for students seeking entry-level accounting positions or for those who plan to continue their studies and become certified public accountants. Students in these evening classes study both accounting and business principles.
Associate of Arts in Business Administration
The evening and weekend business program is designed primarily for students who intend to pursue a 4-year degree in business. Courses include micro- and macroeconomics, business basics, business law, accounting and marketing.
Associate of Applied Science in Computer Network Technology
Students in this program receive instruction in telecommunication network systems, network security and computer hardware. The program prepares students for careers in network administration and network support.
Associate of Arts in Liberal Arts
A general liberal arts program is also offered through night classes. This program provides a broad educational foundation combining English, math, science, social science and the fine arts. The program is geared for students interested in careers in areas such as law, medicine, counseling, education or journalism.
Associate in Applied Science in Nursing
The nursing program is also available through night classes that combine classroom study with observational work and clinical practice. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to sit for the New York State Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses.

CUNY Bernard M. Baruch College's Night Classes
CUNY's Bernard M. Baruch College, located in the Park South area of Manhattan, offers both undergraduate and graduate programs. The public institution offers over 25 majors in fields such as accounting, business, journalism, psychology and statistics, as well as continuing education and professional study programs. Graduate programs offered by the Zicklin School of Business are available with a flex-time option allowing students to take night and weekend classes.
Master of Business Administration
The flex-time MBA program takes students through a sequence of courses, mostly available at night, which prepare them for careers in the business environment. The curriculum covers marketing, statistics, accounting, finance and management.
Master of Science in Accountancy
Night classes are also available for all required courses in the accountancy graduate program. This program is designed for students with an undergraduate degree in business or accounting and prepares students for accounting careers. The program stands in for one year of the required 2-year CPA professional experience requirement in New York.
Master of Science in Real Estate
Students in the real estate program receive core business knowledge, management skills and technical training in real estate. Night classes include capital markets, real estate development, investment analysis, taxation, marketing strategies and real estate law.
Master of Science in Statistics
The statistic program is available as a part-time program with classes meeting at night. The program trains students to apply mathematical models to business, industry and government. Students are prepared for careers as technical specialists.
Master of Science in Taxation
In the part-time taxation program, students follow a sequence of ten courses preparing them for positions in the area of taxation. The program serves as one of the two years of experience required to become a licensed CPA. Coursework includes corporate taxes, real estate taxes, estate planning, personal finances and state and local taxes.
