Biology, chemistry and psychology bachelor's programs typically consist of classroom lectures, research opportunities and hands-on labs. Internships may be available as well. Some programs have pre-med tracks, ensuring that students complete all the prerequisite math and science coursework for admission to medical school. Students who can't select a pre-med track may request the help of an academic advisor to ensure they fulfill all med school prerequisites.

Continuing Education Information
Specialists in obstetrics and gynecology receive some of the most extensive medical training among all doctors. After earning a bachelor's degree, students interested in careers as OBGYNs must complete four years of medical school and 3-year residency programs. They must then complete an internship, which can last several years, in obstetrics and gynecology. After completing mandatory academic education, physicians are required to pass state and professional licensing examinations.
