Ohio State University - Main Campus

The main campus of Ohio State University, located in Columbus, is one of the largest institutions of higher learning in the country. Several of this university's degree programs have distance learning options that allow students to take online courses. As of October 2014, the school offers 10 distance education programs, including two bachelor's degree and eight master's degree programs. In addition to the school's multiple programs in nursing and dental hygiene, the other available programs are in engineering leadership, agriculture, plant health management, welding engineering and clinical research. The school provides online tutors, eLearning technology and an online learning management system.

University of Cincinnati - Main Campus

The University of Cincinnati is the second-largest public educational institution in the state of Ohio. The school provides some associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees through distance learning. There are several online degree programs available in the field of education, including those in curriculum and instruction, special education, educational leadership and early childhood education.

Other fields of study available include fire science, substance abuse counseling, health information management, engineering, business administration and clinical laboratory science, although this is just a sample of the school's program offerings. Columbus State Community College

Located in Columbus, Columbus State Community College is the largest 2-year school in Ohio to offer online and distance learning programs. It offers an online Global Campus with courses offered through web, video and hybrid means. Students can earn degrees at the associate's and bachelor's level; there is also a single online master's degree program in applied politics offered in conjunction with the University of Dayton.

Several online business degree programs are offered, including those in finance, accounting, supply chain management, marketing and management. Some of the other programs available include those in nursing, digital photography, interactive media, digital design and geographic information systems. Students usually need to travel to a testing site to take their exams, and real-time web conferencing may be incorporated into some courses.
