Learning Basic Computer Courses Online

The online learning experience is much different from learning in a traditional classroom setting. In order to closely approximate the traditional classroom experience, students must first make sure that they meet the minimum technical and software requirements set forth by the university or community college.

Typically, a university or college uses a combination of technologies and a learning management system, such as Blackboard. The goal is to provide a real-time learning environment that facilitates discussions between students and the professor. The learning management system allows students to receive quick feedback on papers, discussion topics, exams and class projects and to view demonstrations and presentations on various aspects of basic computing. Students enrolled in an online basic computer course often need a high-speed Internet connection and a basic word processor.
