Corban College
Located in Salem, Corban College offers students over 50 programs of study in the liberal arts, ministry or other professional areas. Corban, a Christian college, is a member of the Association of Christian Schools International and is accredited by the Northwest Commission on Colleges and Universities. Traditional degree and degree completion programs are offered at both the undergraduate and graduate level. The health science program at Corban is designed for students intending to pursue further study in the biological sciences or entrance into a medical program. Elective courses allow students to tailor the program towards their specific interests. Required courses include biology, chemistry, organic chemistry and physics, all with lab components.
Linfield College
Linfield College's Portland Campus focuses on programs in health science and nursing and offers bachelor's degree programs in both areas. The college is accredited by the Northwest Association of Schools and Colleges and is aligned with the nearby Good Samaritan Hospital and Medical Center. Linfield College offers a health science program in environmental and public health, preparing students for careers with non-profit agencies, hospitals and global health organizations. This program is a transfer program, with the first two years being completed at the McMinnville campus or some other school and the final two years completed at the Portland Campus. Courses include international health, public and community health, health psychology, research methods and healthcare in America. Students may also choose a health science program in administration, preparing them for careers in healthcare administration at non-profit agencies, hospitals, clinics and assisted living environments or with insurance or pharmaceutical companies. This program is also a transfer program. In addition to courses in health psychology, research methods and healthcare in America, students complete coursework specific to healthcare administration, like health and social policy, community health and health administration.
