Paramedic Training Programs in Oklahoma
According to the Oklahoma State Department of Health, paramedics must have a license to work in this state. To become licensed, aspiring paramedics need to have EMT-Basic certification, complete a state-approved training program and meet character and competence standards. Prospective paramedics must then take a state-administered practical exam and pass the National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians-Paramedic (NREMT-P) licensing exam. In addition to being state-approved, training programs need to meet the U.S. Department of Transportation Paramedic National Standard Curriculum guidelines in order for graduates to be eligible for the NREMT-P exam.
