This program provides instruction on state and national laws, medical ethics, patient communication, the metric system and pharmacology. Completion of a 180-hour internship is required, and students also receive training in cardiopulmonary resuscitation and first aid. A certificate is awarded upon program completion.
College of Southern Maryland
The College of Southern Maryland in La Plata provides a 17-credit certificate program that prepares students for employment as pharmacy technicians. The curriculum covers human anatomy and physiology, medical terminology, pharmacy business skills and pharmacology. This 3-semester program requires students to complete a practicum during the last semester. Students participate in seminars and receive hands-on experience in various settings during this practicum.
Hagerstown Community College
