Maryland has several community colleges and public universities that offer photography courses. Some schools offer degree programs, and other schools have continuing education courses for beginner photographers. While some of the schools mentioned below are not the largest in the state, they are the ones that offer photography programs.

Anne Arundel Community College

Anne Arundel Community College is located in Arnold, and students can take continuing education courses like digital photography, digital camera operations and portrait photography. This college also has certificate and associate's degree programs in visual arts photography. Courses like digital photography, black-and-white photography and color photography are required. Students enrolled in the associate's degree program need to have their own photography equipment. Students can take advantage of the photography club, which provides additional lectures, seminars, workshops, field trips and peer support.

The Community College of Baltimore County

This college is found in Baltimore, and it offers two associate's degree programs, a certificate program and continuing education courses. Students in the Associate of Arts (AA) degree program can take courses like digital photography, digital imaging and fundamentals of photography.
