Athens Technical College
Located in Athens, this technical college offers a physical therapist assistant associate degree program that can be completed in 5 semesters and requires 80 semester hours for graduation. The program blends classroom, lab and clinical instruction. The coursework covers anatomy and physiology, patient care, rehabilitation, pathology and kinesiology. Students must receive a minimum grade of C in the PTA courses. The program prepares students to take the National Physical Therapy Exam for physical therapy assistants required for licensure.
Atlanta Technical College
The 5-semester associate degree program offered at this technical college in Atlanta trains aspiring physical therapist assistants. Applicants must pass a background test and drug screen for admission, and are also required to have a valid CPR card. This program provides 27 hours of general courses and 53 hours of PTA courses.
