University of New Hampshire

The University of New Hampshire is not only the largest school near the small city of Portsmouth, New Hampshire, but is also the largest school in the state. The public research university was founded in 1866 and offers associate's, bachelor's and master's degrees in more than 100 areas of study. In addition to the five different schools and colleges, the university offers a graduate school as well. The colleges cover engineering and physical sciences, liberal arts, health and human services, life sciences and agriculture and business and economics.

Great Bay Community College

Located Portsmouth, New Hampshire, Great Bay Community College is a 2-year, public school that is part of the New Hampshire Community College System. The school offers associate degree and certificate programs in academic and vocational areas of study. Students can choose from several academic programs, including biotechnology, accounting, criminal justice, early childhood education, liberal arts, hospitality management, marketing, nursing, medical coding, surgical technology and more. Chester College of New England

Chester College of New England is a private school located about 24 miles away from Portsmouth in Chester, New Hampshire. The liberal arts college offers bachelor's degrees in various academic fields.
