Program Description:

Walden University's Doctor of Education (Ed.D.) with a specialization in Special Education program is designed for current and aspiring teachers who are interested in learning about special education practices to enhance student learning. The program, which aligns with the Council for Exceptional Children's Advanced Role Content Standards, teaches educators how to develop programs and assess student progress, and how to improve school- and district-wide policies and practices that affect special education. Through different courses, individuals will also study societal factors related to students with special needs and how to assume an effective leadership position within an educational setting. Students in this degree program also conduct research through two doctoral study courses.
