Real Estate Classes in Michigan at Lansing Community College
Lansing Community College (LCC), founded in 1957, serves more than 30,000 students each year. LCC is the fifth largest employer in the capital area, employing more than 2,600 faculty. Lansing Community College offers transfer programs, certificate programs, online and hybrid courses at the main campus in East Lansing and at learning centers throughout the area, such as in Howell and St. Johns. The Business Department at LCC offers programs in accounting, business, hospitality, travel and tourism, management and marketing, administrative office systems and paralegal. The Management and Marketing Department offers certificate and associate degree programs in Real Estate, business management, E-business and international business. Real Estate Classes Offered
- Introduction to Real Estate Class: Students are introduced to a broad overview of the Real Estate business. This course places emphasis on points of Real Estate law and principles that are applicable to a salesperson, buyer, seller or investor.
- Real Estate Investment Class: The focus of this class is in financing, investment analysis, depreciation, exchanging, capital gains and the federal tax implications of Real Estate ownership, acquisition and disposal. This course is also offered online.
- Property Management Class: This class covers Real Estate management and the market, creating an organized management plan, marketing residential and commercial space, rent collection, leases, tenant and landlord laws, tenant screening, fair-housing requirements and tenant-owner relations. This class also provides instruction in Real Estate as an investment, managing apartments, office space and retail stores.
- Real Estate Law Class: Different subjects of study in this course include land titles, land interests, abstract and title insurance, deeds and easements, liens, mortgages and land contracts, foreclosures, tax policies in Real Estate and private land-use controls.
- Real Estate Licensing Exam Class: This course provides intense studying in the fundamentals of Real Estate and prepares students for the Michigan Real Estate Licensing exam administered by the Applied Measurement Professionals (AMP). This Real Estate course meets all statutory requirements, including four hours of study in fair housing.
