Chadron State College in Chadron offers a master's degree program that qualifies graduates for a school counselor endorsement at the elementary or secondary levels. The 39-credit program includes courses in counseling theory and methods as well as a practicum and 450 hours of internship work. The K-12 endorsement calls for an internship at the elementary and secondary levels.
Located in Omaha, Creighton University's graduate counseling degree program offers specializations at the elementary or secondary levels. Students in both specializations study child development, counseling ethics and vocational counseling, and they complete a practicum and two internships. Full-time teachers receive partial tuition remission. The 42-credit hour program can be completed in two years. Applicants must have an undergraduate degree from an accredited college with at least a 3.0 grade point average.
Doane College offers a master's degree in K-12 school counseling at its campus in Lincoln to licensed teachers with at least two years of experience. University of Nebraska at Kearney
