University of Washington

While the University of Washington's main campus is located in Seattle, the school also has locations in Bothell and Tacoma, Washington. In 2010, the U.S. News & World Report ranked the University of Washington 11th among public national universities and 42nd among all national universities in the country. Home to 18 colleges and schools, the university offers more than 250 undergraduate and graduate degree programs. The most popular undergraduate majors include biology, political science, communications, sociology, English, economics and psychology. Graduate programs availalbe include public health, social work, art history, computer science, linguistics, mechanical engineering and oceanography.

Bellevue College

Bellevue College offers a number of 4-year university transfer programs, as well as more than 90 technical certificate and associate degree programs for direct entry into the workforce. Areas of study include computers and technology, animation and graphics, elementary education, business, early childhood education, communications, health and human resources. Although Bellevue College offers primarily associate degree and certificate programs, they have started offering bachelor's degrees in radiation and imaging sciences and interior design.

Edmonds Community College

Located approximately 15 miles from Seattle, Edmonds Community College offers students opportunities to continue their education in 4-year universities or begin careers. Career training programs are offered in marketing and sales, accounting, computer game development, culinary arts, medical transcription, construction management and project management. For those interested in moving on to a 4-year school, programs are available in hospitality and tourism management, horticulture, business management, computer information systems and materials science technology. The school also offers nearly 20 online degrees and certificates.
