University of California, Los Angeles
The University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA) is the largest campus in the University of California system and one of the ten leading research universities in the United States according to U.S. News & World Report. The campus is located 10 miles south of Sherman Oaks in the Westwood Village section of Los Angeles, a short distance from the Pacific coast. Eleven professional schools in fields such as education, engineering, law, management, public affairs and theater, plus one college of letters and science, comprise the academic offerings of the school. In total, more than 300 undergraduate and graduate degree programs are available to students; the most common fields of study are the social and life sciences. More than 95% of students attend full time, and entering freshmen participate in an award-winning cluster program and various seminars to help students achieve success. UCLA has a well-known library that the school reports as being ranked among the top 10 in the nation.

California State University, Northridge
Located in the San Fernando Valley approximately six miles northwest of Sherman Oaks, California State University Northridge (CSUN) is one of the nation's largest single-campus educational institutions. The school offers 64 bachelor's degree programs, 52 master's degree programs and 55 teaching credential programs through nine colleges. Approximately 75% of students are traditional undergraduate students and attend full-time, and approximately 25% of entering freshman reside on campus. Several graduate programs at CSUN have received high rankings from U.S. News & World Report, including psychology and business.

Santa Monica College
A 2-year community college with state-of-the-art facilities, Santa Monica College's main campus is just two miles from the beach and 15 miles southwest of Sherman Oaks. The school has a large international student population, with more than 100 countries represented by approximately 3,000 students. The school offers a highly affordable tuition rate for California residents, and has the most student transfers to 4-year campuses in the state. More than 80 areas of study are offered in programs such as art, business, chemistry, cosmetology, education, engineering, fashion and history, among others.
