CUNY College of Staten Island

A 4-year senior college of the City University of New York, the College of Staten Island awards bachelor and associate degrees through liberal arts, science and professional studies programs. A student may use the same program focuses to earn a master's degree. Students may also pursue doctoral degrees in psychology, biology, physics, chemistry and computer science through CUNY College of Staten Island's association with the City University Graduate School and University Center.

Another feature of this Staten Island, NY, college is its Honors College. It provides enhanced curricular and extracurricular activities designed to stimulate students who are especially committed to learning and who plan to continue on to graduate or professional schools.

The College of Staten Island has New York City's largest campus. Its Astrophysical Observatory and its Center for the Arts are often said to be the most excellent in New York State.

Wagner College

The curriculum at Wagner College combines studying issues and developing learning skills ---critical thinking, problem solving and writing--- in the classroom with practical experiences. New York City offers unique and almost endless opportunities for practical learning training. Students take a full liberal arts core program and a major---of which there are many choices---leading to Bachelor of Arts or Bachelor of Science degrees. The majors chosen most frequently are business, sociology, psychology, biological sciences and theatre. There are also several master's and doctor's degree programs.

Willsey Institute

Willsey Institute prepares students for careers in four medical fields: phlebotomy, patient care, dental assisting and medical assisting. Classes are given during the daytime and students are full time for the 720-900 hours of instructional lectures, clinical laboratories skills practice, typing and computer instruction and supervised internships. Concepts are taught using simulated work situations. Classes are small and students are given individualized attention.
