Programs at South Piedmont Community College

South Piedmont Community College provides associate degree and certificate programs as well as programs in adult basic skills, continuing education, short term training and human resources development. Areas of study include nursing, web design, criminal justice technology, business administration, medial office administration, medial assisting and medical sonography. Students who graduate from the medical sonography program are eligible to pursue examinations through the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers.

Associate in Science in Medical Sonography

The medical sonography associate's degree program is 76 credits and provides students with the knowledge and skills necessary to perform ultrasound and sonography procedures. Students learn about the treatment of disease through the use of specialized imaging equipment. Additionally, the program teaches students about the proper utilization of equipment and helps them to develop patient interaction skills.
