Students in the 6-semester general/vascular tracks learn how to use ultrasound to image soft tissue areas of the pelvis and abdomen. They also learn to use ultrasound for obstetrical and vascular examinations. Graduates in this degree concentration are eligible to take national registry examinations to become a Registered Diagnostic Medical Sonographer and Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT).
Individuals interested in the cardiac/vascular concentration learn to perform ultrasounds on the heart and vascular areas of the human body. This program concentration is also six semesters. Graduates in this concentration are eligible to take national registry examinations to earn the credential of Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer and RVT.
