Ultrasound School Options in Colorado
Ultrasound technicians, commonly known as diagnostic medical sonographers, aren't required to have a license to work in Colorado. However, many employers require the sonographers they hire to be certified by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS). The ARDMS offers certification in different specializations, such as abdominal, vascular, breast, gynecological and fetal sonography. Sonographers must satisfy certain education and/or clinical experience requirements in order to sit for an ARDMS certification exam. Colorado has 6 schools that provide this qualifying education for ultrasound technicians, and brief overviews of 3 of these schools are provided below.
