Boston College offers certificates, bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.
As one of the oldest Catholic universities in the nation, Boston College, located in suburban Chestnut Hill, is home to one of the largest Jesuit communities in the world. Boston Colleges' inclusive founding mission attracts students and faculty from diverse religious traditions and a broad range of convictions. Boston College ranks #35 overall among America's best colleges, and its business, accounting and finance programs each rank in the top 30.
Boston College, often called 'The Heights' because of its elevated position on Chestnut Hill, has four campuses and eight libraries. As a private research university, BC also joins a college consortium of other premier institutions of higher learning in Boston to offer students a wider range of educational and cultural activities.
Boston College awards certificates, as well as bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees in more than 50 fields of study through seven schools and colleges. The most popular undergraduate majors are finance, communication studies, English language and literature, history and biological sciences.
Student activities are abundant with more than 200 registered clubs and organizations, such as student newspapers, television and radio stations, political groups and student government. In addition to nearly 60 intramural and club sports, the Boston College Eagles men's and women's athletic teams compete in 27 intercollegiate sports in N.C.A.A. Division I-A.
BC is considered to have one of the 'most selective' admission processes with a 29 percent acceptance rate. Most incoming freshman graduate in the top 25 percent of their high school classes and typically submit SAT test scores between 1,250 and 1,420.
