The Stevens Institute of Technology is a private institution located in Hoboken, a city of about 40,000 that lies across the Hudson River from Manhattan. Founded in 1870, the school is one of the oldest and best-established technology institutions in the nation. The institute earned the #75 position on the America's Best Colleges list. The university's engineering, science and technical programs are among the most highly regarded in the country.

The Stevens Institute of Technology is set on a campus of nearly 60 acres. It features a vast network of engineering labs, specialized libraries and computer facilities designed for innovative research and development. Outside of these hands-on learning environments, students enjoy a campus of green spaces and diverse activities. Nearly 100 student groups provide a number of different recreational pursuits. Downtown Hoboken offers other opportunities for fun, and New York City's plentiful diversions are only a short subway ride away.

The Stevens Institute of Technology offers bachelor's, master's and doctoral degree programs through four schools and colleges. Popular majors among undergraduates include engineering, business, computer sciences, biological sciences and engineering technologies.

The Stevens Institute of Technology is home to fewer than 2,000 undergraduate students. One of the 'more selective' schools in the nation, the institution has an overall acceptance rate of 54 percent. Incoming students carry a grade-point average of 3.7 and typically score in the 1160 to 1360 range on the SAT and the 24 to 29 range on the ACT.
