The University of Central Arkansas is located in Conway, Arkansas approximately 30 miles north of Little Rock. The school offers certificates in addition to associates, bachelors, masters and doctoral level degree programs.
The University of Central Arkansas is located in the suburban community of Conway and just north of Little Rock. UCA earned national distinction in appearing on the U.S. News' list of Top National Universities, and it boasts the top drama department in the state.
The Honors College at the University of Central Arkansas takes an interdisciplinary approach to learning and is designed to fulfill some general education requirements through small classes taught in seminar format. This prototype has become a model for honors colleges across the nation.
Students applying to UCA compete in a 'selective' admission process with a 54% acceptance rate. The typical incoming freshman has a grade point average of 3.3 and ACT test scores between 20 and 27.
Of the more than 100 undergraduate courses of study through eight colleges, the most popular majors are in family and consumer sciences, health professions, teaching, psychology and biological sciences. Students at UCA enjoy a student-to-faculty ratio of 19:1.
UCA offers certificates, as well as associate's, bachelor's, master's and doctorate degrees. Students can prepare for the demands of graduate school by taking pre-professional programs in law, dentistry, medicine, veterinary medicine, optometry and pharmacy.
Athletics play a big role on the UCA campus. In addition to an intramural sports program, students can take advantage of the new health, physical education and recreation center.
