The 246-acre campus of Montclair State University is located eight miles southeast of Wayne, NJ. Established over 100 years ago, the institution offers nearly 300 certificate, bachelor's, master' and doctoral degree programs. The five academic schools and colleges educate students in humanities and social sciences, science and mathematics, education and human services, business and the arts. Some of the more popular majors include family and child studies, business administration and psychology. Montclair State University offers the country's only doctoral program in pedagogy. International students can earn credit through the business school's unique Disney International College Program, a cooperative work-study program with the Walt Disney World Resort near Orlando, Florida.

Bergen Community College in Paramus
Bergen Community College is the largest community college in New Jersey and has a 167-acre main campus. Located in Paramus, Bergen Community College is just ten miles east of Wayne, NJ, and has two off-campus sites in Hackensack and Lyndhurst. This 2-year college maintains an open door admissions policy, enrolling a large number of both degree-seeking students and individuals taking non-credit or professional development courses through its continuing education division.
Nearly 80 associate's degree programs are offered in the areas of liberal arts, humanities, business, social sciences, public service, technology and health professions. Additionally, the college offers 40 certificate programs in culinary arts, computer science, radiation therapy, floral design, biotechnology, real estate and commercial music production. Bergen Community College has a statewide transfer agreement that gives students ample transfer opportunities to any of New Jersey's 4-year schools.

Kean University in Union
Founded in 1855, Kean University has become a comprehensive 4-year institution and is the state's largest producer of teachers. Located about 20 miles south of Wayne, Kean University has five academic colleges that offer 48 undergraduate degree programs in the areas of natural and health sciences, visual and performing arts, education, business and the humanities. In addition to several certification programs and two diploma programs, the school offers a range of master's degree programs and two doctoral degrees in psychology and education.
The Center for Science, Technology and Mathematics offers a 5-year combined bachelor's and master's degree program, as well as joint programs with Drexel University and St. Peter's University Hospital. Kean University is also partnered with Ocean County College to provide students on the Ocean County College campus opportunities to pursue bachelor's and master's degree programs in a variety of fields, including computer science, biology, education, graphic design, marketing and nursing.
